Why THM?
Unlock opportunities at a well-established
University of Applied Sciences in the centre of Germany
Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM), established in 1971, is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Germany (Top 10 in 2025). Over 15000 students, studying in 40 bachelor’s and 44 master’s programs on three campuses, are empowered to study independently with the support of an excellent academic and administrative team. The THM’s mission statement places people at the centre: “Respect and appreciation are central foundations of our university culture”. Further core values are derived from the mission statement, which are manifested through the four overarching themes of motivation, quality, agility, and diversity.

The campus in Giessen, located in downtown, hosts seven departments including our Business School. THM Business School offers three bachelor programmes and four master programmes. With over 1500 enrolled students in 2025, the Business School is one of the largest departments at the university. Over 35 professors and supporting academic staff collaborate at the Business School, which enables the department to keep the classes small and support the students intensively throughout their studies.

Located in the Rhine-Main region, a global hub of finance and industry in the heart of Germany, THM combines academic excellence with outstanding opportunities for class excursions, practical business experience, internships and employment, provided by its vast regional and international networks.
The degree programmes at the THM Business School enjoy excellent ranking in Germany. The recently published results of the CHE ranking in 2026 were, for the fourth time in a row, very positive for the department. Both existing Bachelor programmes of the Business School reached top scores in various key performance indicators.

Moreover, the Business School has most recently, in 2025, been recipient of the Hessian University Prize for Excellence in Teaching. The department received this price for its innovative learning concept called “International Business Simulation”, combining virtual project teamwork with internationalization at home and abroad, enabling students from different countries and world regions to develop intercultural competence, strategic thinking, leadership, and practical business skills through real-world collaboration.
